US bombs Iran and UNWRA meeting

Secure Scotland statement on the US bombing of Iran

The UK is now ever more clearly up to its neck in the Coalition of the Unhinged which is waging mayhem and war in the Middle East. It is likely that the bombers for the attack by the US took off from Diego Garcia which is formally UK territory. Starmer has given his full backing to the attack and is standing shoulder to shoulder with two violent and dangerous bullies. Those of us who love peace and human solidarity are bound to feel shocked and weak in such hideous times and it is vital as a first step that we find our own peculiar strength by reaching out to each other in connection and solidarity. Secure Scotland will contribute what we can to that process. Throughout human history and across the world we have experienced this level of grief and anger and have managed together to find ways to make our peaceful resistance contagious.

BEYOND HUMAN RIGHTS

EXHIBITION OPENING 26 June at 6.30

open 10 - 4 weekdays till 27 July

The new Secure Scotland - open exhibition and event. In “The Age of Insecurity” Astra Taylor points out that the wreckage we are making of the climate and the ecosystems arises from an exclusive concentration on human security without regard for the rest of reality. And, of course, an exclusively human-centred approach to security is chain-sawing the branch on which we precariously perch. (Book is available to buy from WandA)
